About Bill Sible
William Lee (Bill) Sible, a classically trained pianist, teacher and performer, co-founded the Denver Piano Conservatory in 1967. Bill welcomes keyboard students of all ages and skill levels to his spacious studio with side-by-side grand pianos and harpsichord. “The joy of teaching”, he emphasizes, “is the main endeavor of my life even beyond performing and composing.”
A certified Master Teacher (Music Teachers National Association) and certified Master Teacher All Levels (Colorado State Music Teachers Association), Bill holds a Bachelor of Music, Performance Piano from Cornell University and a Master of Arts, Performance and Music Theory from the University of Denver.
Bill has served on faculty at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, led the Piano Studies Department at Arapahoe Community College and studied with renowned teachers, including Jacques and Helena Jolas; Julian Bern (Yehudah Bernstein); Wilhelm Schwartzkopf; Olga Samoroff; and Hubert Fitch. Master Class performances include those for Robert Pace; Wendel Diebel; Byron Janis; Rudolf Ganz; and Alfred Brendel at St. John’s College at Santa Fe New Mexico.
An honoree of the Colorado State Music Teacher Association, Bill is a member of the Aeolian Music Club and performs several times a year. A gifted performer and vibrant member of the arts community, he says the inspiration afforded by the Association, the Aeolian, and participation in local and national music groups keeps his teaching fresh, broadens his perspective, and impacts his thinking on a wider role in teaching. Leaving a legacy with students who can carry the music forward is his passion. Bill offers a one hour interview to prospective students by appointment.
